The Elgin Wine Route:

Besides the apples, the beautiful Elgin valley has also become renowned for its cool climate wines. At an elevation of 350 meters above sea level it is the coolest climate wine region in South Africa. Meander between the more than twenty regional wine farms and enjoy some of the excellent wines on offer. Our favorites are Oak Valley (do try the “Fountain of Youth” Sav Blanc and the Riesling), Almen Kerk for their amazing views (do try the Rose & Sav Blanc) and South Hill Wines where you can also get a bite to eat (try their Sav Blanc & Rose)!

MTB Riding Trails:

The valley offers MTB enthusiasts a variety of popular routes that cater to all skill levels. These include the Cape Pine forestry plantations near Elgin Country Club, the Oak Valley Wine Estate route and the routes at Paul Cluver and Lebanon.  There are also the iconic Wines2Whales and Apple Blossom MTB Classic events that are held annually.
